Chris Jarratt
Chris Jarratt has over 40 years of experience in the development, construction, financing, acquisition, and operation of renewable power generating and utility projects both in North America and internationally. Chris is a senior business professional and was a founder and Executive Director of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Algonquin, Chris was responsible for developing strategy, managing numerous special projects, as well as ESG development, executive recruitment, compensation and governance matters.
Chris brings extensive management capabilities and strategic insights to effectively capitalize on opportunities and drive growth in large scale power and energy projects.

Chris is a Civil Engineer who holds a Professional Engineer designation, an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph, and a Chartered Director designation awarded from McMaster University.
Chris Benedetti
Chris Benedetti brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications and public affairs, with experience in both federal and provincial governments. Currently serving as Managing Partner at Sussex Strategy Group, Chris provides valuable insights and expertise in policy development and political processes.

Chris contributes his expertise in energy and environmental policy to Red Jar, providing a deep understanding of the evolving regulatory and policy landscape. Chris also collaborates with the government and its agencies to suggest changes to policy where productive and supports Red Jar’s interests.

Chris holds a BA in Law and a BA in Political Science from Carleton University, along with an MA in Political Science (International Relations) from McMaster University and the University of Bath, England.
Gregory Smith
Gregory Smith is a respected leader in private capital, with nearly 30 years of experience investing in mid-sized companies across North America. As President and CEO of Instar Asset Management, Greg contributes his expertise in operational management, acquisition, and financing of private equity investments covering public and private infrastructure, real estate, and power and utility sectors.

Gregory brings his entrepreneurial spirit and leverages his relationships across the private capital spectrum to support the growth and operational strategies associated with the projects we will undertake.

Gregory is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University.
