Niagara Power Corridor Announcement

The Niagara Power Corridor is a vital infrastructure project that is critical to delivering power to the recently announced $1.6B Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Plant in Port Colborne (Asahi Kasei Announces Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada as Location of Future Lithium-ion Battery Separator Plant | 2024 | News | Asahi Kasei), and further, addressing South Niagara’s growing energy demands.


The Niagara Power Corridor is being built along the Welland Canal portion of the St. Lawrence Seaway to support the 118MW required to power Asahi Kasei’s facility, and also lays the foundation for future industrial growth and investment in the region.


Red Jar Energy Partners is proud to be contracted by Asahi Kasei to develop, build and operate this transmission line that is critical to supporting not only the Asahi Kasei plant, but for further industrial expansion in the City of Port Colborne and the wider region. This project is a key part of the necessary infrastructure being built to support the long-term economic prosperity of the Niagara Region
