We are proud to officially share that Red Jar Energy Partners is the Founding Sponsor of the Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) Inaugural Nunavut Northern Alumni Classic, taking place this March 19-22nd in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

This partnership is deeply aligned with Red Jar’s commitment to working alongside First Nations partners and advancing economic reconciliation. We know that safe housing and food security are foundational to long-term, sustainable change. That’s why HHTH’s mission resonates so deeply with us. By leveraging Canada’s connection to hockey, HHTH raises awareness and funds to address homelessness across the country. This inaugural Northernmost Alumni Game marks a significant milestone as their furthest-north event to date, designed to generate meaningful support for communities where needs are often amplified by geography and limited access to resources.

As the Founding Sponsor of this landmark event, we were honoured to travel to Iqaluit this past October to support early planning initiatives, spend time with the local organizing committee, and connect with local charities including the Annauma Community Foundation and the Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre. Seeing this work on the ground reinforced just how critical housing and food security are in our own Country, particularly in Northern communities.

Our relationship with HHTH developed through hands-on involvement, starting with our support of a team at their first Hamilton tournament. Since then, we’ve seen firsthand the real impact HHTH delivers by directing funds straight to meaningful, community-led causes.

We’re excited to be part of this exciting event alongside the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni, Sportsnet, Jordan Tootoo, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and EllisDon, a valued partner of Red Jar and the event’s presenting sponsor. Together, we’re proud to support an event that brings together sport, community, and meaningful impact.

We look forward to sharing more as the event approaches. Stay tuned!
