Today, Red Jar Energy Partners had the privilege of attending the St. Lawrence Seaway opening for the 2025 Navigation Season. Jason Sparaga represented RJEP, alongside industry leaders, officials, and key community partners.

Amid uncertain times, the ceremony underscored the enduring Canada-U.S. partnership. The Seaway, crossing the border 27 times, is a vital link for international trade. Leaders from both nations highlighted its importance in expanding trade and fostering global economic growth.

The Seaway plays a crucial role in moving cargo, strengthening supply chains, and supporting sustainable development and economic growth across North America. Red Jar is proud to contribute to the Niagara Region’s long-term infrastructure plan through the development of the Niagara Power Corridor. Red Jar Energy Partners recognizes the importance of honouring the history, partnerships, and legacy of the Seaway system.

We were especially honored to hear from our partners from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, led by Council member @Jesse Herkimer, sharing the rich history of the Mississaugas as the stewards of these waterways for centuries.

Jason Sparaga was also joined by Ken Carey from the The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC). Red Jar is proud to collaborate with SLSMC partners on the Niagara Power Corridor, as key members of Team Niagara task force.

We are energized by the collaboration and momentum of all involved in supporting vital infrastructure and global trade.
